What's wrong with our education system?

1. Katherine Birbalsingh believes that there is a problem with UK's education system. Can you identify it within the first three minutes of the video? What is the problem?

Yes, I can. According to Katherine, the education system in Britain is broken and the students have formed a excuse culture. It's not only the responsibility of the teachers or the children. But what I got from the first three minutes of the video is only one of the aspects which exist in UK's education system.

2. Why does this problem exist according to this teacher? (from 3 min to 4 min 26 sec)

The country forget to give the freedom to teachers because of the criticize system. Though the majority of the public have realised or understood what the teacher, the teachers still feel unfair and not be respected by the public.

3. What do the government ministers think about this problem? Who is to blame for the condition? (from 4 min 30 till about 6 min)

He strongly agreed with what Katherine said. However, he also stated that the government did try their best to support the education. The ministers thinks the teachers play a big roal in this issue.

4. Which suggestions does Katherine make to improve the system? (6-7 min)

The teachers should be responsible themselves. Give freedom to teacher and the people should trust our teachers more.

5. Which changes would Katherine make in the education system if she were given a choice? (till the end of the video)

The first thing is to impower teachers and headteachers to be able to do what necessary bring about the discipline in their schools. The second thing is to give freedom to the teachers and trust them more to get rid of the complain culture. And then is to improve the quality of the exams.

China’s education system
As a Chinese student, that’s enough to have an opinion with the problem of the education system of my country, (specifically high schools)
- Too many students in one classe
- Classe division according to overall, as opposed to subject-specific, test scores
- Overworked students, no time for anything but studying
- Overly high emphasis on memorization
According to me, It's necessary to improve the discipline in high schools.

The bad word that starts with an E

Mr Bean writing an exam
At the beginning of the sketch, we can see that Mr Bean is in a good mood and childish as always. Indeed, Mr Bean starts mocking his partner because he thinks that the latter didn't do the proper revisions, then they challenged each others to see who has the most pen in their pockets. In this ludicrous challenge, Mr Bean turns out victorious thanks to his ton of pen, an alarm clock, a pink panther and a plush.

But the taste of victory doens't taste long, as the teacher told the students to open the envelope which contains their examination papers. While opening the envelope Mr Bean seemed confident, but as he was reading the paper his face started to distort, going from confidence to fear and anxiety, because he realized that there was only one subject, and that he knew nothing.Desperate and seeing that his partner seemed to know what to write, Mr Bean intended to have a peek at his partner's sheet. He first tricks his partner by making him look away, which grants Mr Bean enough time to look at the sheet. However this sheet was a failure, and his partner threw it away. But Mr Bean didn't give up. He then tried to slither next to his partner to get a glimpse of the sheet, but once he was noticed, he slithered bac to his place. Aware of his intention, the partner turned over a sheet he completed in order Mr Bean not to have a look at it. Plus, he put his elbow on it, preventing Mr Bean from seeing anything. Nevertheless, the latter is not done yet. He layed down his head on the desk and start blewing, making the sheet getting off the table. This trick allowed him to see once again what his partner wrote. Mr Bean's breathe finally disturbed his partner, which gave him a short window to take the sheet et copy it. But he was soon discovered one more time, and his partner then put his sheet on the other side of the desk, but Mr Bean still have something up his sleeves : He let a pen fell on the ground, and while retrieving it, he sneaked to the other side of the desk to peek on the sheet. Once detected, he pretended only to be picking up his pen, and while getting back to his place he looked again at the sheet. As he ran out of ideas, Mr Bean began crying.

At the end of the examination, the teacher revealed that there were in fact two subject in the enveloppe. Mr Bean didn't know that and mastered the other subject. Because time was running out, he started to panic and writing as much as he could. But it was already too late.

Me and my exam !
I'm always under stress before an exam even if I study a lot! But once the exam starts, it gets better. I have a habit of chewing gum to relax. Usually, I'm pretty quiet but if a question is too difficult I begin to worry, and if several questions are too hard, I freak out and I can't manage to do anything, until I regain my composure. Then I try to do my best to pass the examination. When comes the time to hand in the exam sheet to the teacher, I feel a little depressed because I think that I wasn't successful at all.
